The results of the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index, prepared under the leadership of TÜBİTAK and announced annually to the public, have been released. Konya Technical University (KTÜN) ranked 41st among all universities in Türkiye and 29th among state universities, once again demonstrating its role in entrepreneurship and innovation.
The University’s most notable achievement, however, came in the category of industry-collaborative projects, where KTÜN ranked 5th in Türkiye in terms of the number of projects carried out in collaboration with industry.
KTÜN stood out for its strong performance in university-industry collaboration. With this result, the University once again demonstrated its effectiveness in transferring academic knowledge and research capacity into industry through productive partnerships.
Prepared by TÜBİTAK since 2012, the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index aims to identify Türkiye’s most innovative and entrepreneurial universities and to measure their performance in this field. Universities are assessed on the basis of 23 indicators grouped under four main dimensions: scientific and technological research competence, intellectual property pool, collaboration and interaction, and economic and social contribution.
According to data from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), 197 universities with more than 50 faculty members were included in the evaluation process. However, only the top 50 universities qualified to be listed in the final index. The index, compiled through a rigorous nine-month data collection process with contributions from 323 institutions, stands out for its multi-stakeholder methodology.
Commenting on the achievement, KTÜN Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik said:
“The strong ties we have built with industry, together with our scientific infrastructure and dynamic academic staff, continue to place KTÜN among Türkiye’s leading innovative universities. This success is not only an outcome, but also a reflection of our vision for the future.”
KTÜN’s strong partnerships with industry and its work focused on social contribution were among the key factors supporting this achievement. The result shows that the University has further strengthened its position within the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem and continues to move confidently toward its strategic goals.
