Konya Technical University Listed Among the World’s Greenest Universities

Konya Technical University continues to advance its commitment to environmental sustainability and its goal of becoming a green campus at the international level. According to the results of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2025, one of the world’s most respected sustainability ranking platforms, KTÜN was included among 1,745 universities evaluated worldwide.

The UI GreenMetric 2025 rankings, which assess universities around the world in terms of campus setting, infrastructure, and environmentally responsible policies, have been announced. By earning a place in this prestigious ranking, our University has once again demonstrated its commitment to environmental responsibility on an international platform while accelerating its academic and physical infrastructure efforts in support of a sustainable future.

Strong Performance in Education and Research

Among the six main categories used in the evaluation, our University stood out particularly in Education and Research, where it received its strongest score. This category covers sustainability-related courses in the curriculum, academic publications in the field, and student projects focused on sustainability.

UI GreenMetric 2025: KTÜN Score Overview

Our University received a total score of 2,155. The breakdown of its sustainability performance is as follows:

  • Total Score: 2,155
  • Education and Research (ED): 702.5 points
  • Setting and Infrastructure (SI): 590 points
  • Transportation (TR): 422.5 points
  • Waste (WS): 325 points
  • Energy and Climate Change (EC): 95 points
  • Water (WR): 20 points

Toward a Sustainable and Green Campus

Guided by its motto, Pioneer of Development, Konya Technical University aims to combine its technical infrastructure with the principles of environmental sustainability. Participation in the UI GreenMetric ranking is strategically important for the University, both in assessing its current position and in shaping its roadmap for the years ahead.

In light of the findings, the University also aims to expand its infrastructure investments in energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste management, while further improving its position in the ranking in the coming years.
